Golden Bananas are giant, shiny bananas serving as the main collectibles in Donkey Kong 64.
Their Appearance is a Banana, With a Nintendo 64 Badge Added.
The game's plot is centered around Donkey Kong and his allies trying to take back Donkey Kong's Golden Bananas from the evil King K. Rool. They were stolen along with some of Donkey Kong's friends to distract him while the Kremlings' Blast-O-Matic was being charged.
In terms of gameplay, Golden Bananas are one of the requirements to achieving a 101% completing rating. Each level has a minimum number of Golden Bananas that the Kongs need in order to access it, with the number being shown on B. Locker, who blocks the entrance unless the Kongs have met the requirement displayed on him.
