Chomps is an underwater enemy roaming around Donkey Kong Island in the Donkey Kong series.

History

Donkey Kong Country/Land

Chomps first appear in Donkey Kong Country as commonly found underwater enemies. These aggressive sharks bite Donkey and Diddy when the two come near it. They cannot defeat Chomps themselves so the two have to use Enguarde to defeat this enemy. In this game, they can be found in Coral Capers, Clam City and Croctopus Chase.

These enemies reappear in Donkey Kong Land acting the same, except that they cannot be defeated as Enguarde doesn't appear in the game and thus must be avoided. They make their first appearance in Kremlantis Kaos and their final in a Bonus Level in Oil Drum Slum.

Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest

Three Chomps make a cameo in the game after Kaptain K. Rool was defeated in the Flying Krock and was punched out of the window by Donkey until he fell into the swamp where the three Chomps chewed him up.

Donkey Kong Racing

Chomps makes a minor appearance in Donkey Kong Racing underwater with Diddy and Tiny riding their Enguardes.
