Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!/Land III[]
Bristles first appear in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! who replace Spinies. They are mainly found in waterfall and jungle-themed levels. As their quills are sharp, jumping on them results in injury. They can be defeated via barrels and being rolled into however. They can also attack the monkeys by rolling into them. It is only in the level Konveyor Rope Clash.
These enemies reappear in Donkey Kong Land III. They act the same, but lack their rolling attack.
