Bottles

Bottles, as he appears in Banjo-Kazooie.

Bottles the Mole is a short-sighted mole that wears large, thick, Coke-bottle-framed glasses. He has appeared in the Banjo series and in the Club Nintendo comics. He is a friend of Banjo. Bottles has a large family, which includes his brother Jamjars, his wife Mrs. Bottles, his son Speccy and his daughter Goggles.

History

Banjo series

Banjo-Kazooie

Bottles is Banjo's friend and neighbor in Banjo-Kazooie. He is shown at the beggining talking with Tooty, and is actually present when the young bear is kidnapped. Thus he is the one who actually informs Banjo that Gruntilda kidnapped his sister. Throughout the game Bottles will teach Banjo and Kazooie moves to help them defeat the witch. Bottles uses Molehills to teach the duo.

Bottles harbors a resentment against Kazooie, one that seems to have started before the events of Banjo-Kazooie. This resentment is carried on to his brother Jamjars.

Banjo-Tooie

Bottles is killed in the beginning of Banjo-Tooie. He is shown playing cards with Banjo, Kazooie, and Mumbo Jumbo. He is beating Kazooie, but she cheats by saying Gruntilda is at the window. When Gruntilda actually does come back, Bottles think it is a trick, so stays in the house as Gruntilda blows it up. However, much in the form of Wrinkly Kong, Bottles does not completely vanish but becomes a spirit. He will help Banjo and Kazooie remember their moves from the previous game. The player can view Bottles' decaying body lying on the ground, and when talked to, Bottles' ghost will tell them to hurry up and bring his body back to life. He is finally revived at the end of the game, and returns home in time for supper.

Banjo-Pilot

Bottles is an unlockable driver in Banjo-Pilot. He is the fastest character, similar to T.T in Diddy Kong Racing.

Club Nintendo

"Super Mario in Aloha Hawaii"

Bottles was featured in the Club Nintendo comic "Super Mario in Aloha Hawaii". In the comic, he brings Mario on a trip to Hawaii.

• In Banjo-Tooie, Bottles was going to be a playable character. In a special mode, Bottles' ghost would transform into a devil-like build, aptly named "Devil Bottles". This character could be controled by Player Two. Devil Bottles could posess enemies to help or hinder Banjo's progress. This idea was scrapped late in development. However, Devil Bottles appears alongside many other characters as a face in the "Tower of Tragedy" quiz.
